Silent Retreat

A WEEKEND OF ABSOLUTE SILENCE AND BREATHING MEDITATION

Practice begins from Friday night and continues until Sunday at noon, including night and dawn meditations that generate a deep introspective connection, thanks to the body inner chemistry activated in the dark part of the day.

During the process, a deep stimulation of the nervous system is carried out through ancestral techniques of breathing meditation and absolute silence, which enriches our self-knowledge and emotional wisdom.

The retreat is open to all people, whether or not they have meditated before.

SILENT AS A RESOURCE

Silence as a meditative resource extremely powerful in the work of listening to ourselves, feel our emotions and observe our mind, especially when practiced in a controlled environment for such purposes.

Everything is enhanced: time lengthens, meditations are experienced from previously unexplored internal areas, each breath reaches more remote cellular corners, the senses are refined... in short, we approach ourselves from more lucid and unfiltered platforms.

Silent retreats have existed since ancient times with the aim of codifying the habit of feeling and exploring our emotions. In that sense it is like literally launching a sensory amplifier within us.

Details on how exactly we will practice silence will be explained at the beginning of the retreat. For now, it is important to note that silence implies not only not speaking, but also not writing, not reading, not using the telephone... throughout the weekend.

BREATHING MEDITATIONS

'Breathing meditation' refers to the practice of breathing patterns designed thousands of years ago where oxygen and carbon dioxide are regulated through inhalations, exhalations and breathing pauses. Some of these exercises are practiced in total physical stillness, while others involve physical movements of the body... all in order to generate a different lens of observation of our emotions than usual.

It should be said that these breathings, together with the meditative state they produce in the body and mind when practiced in total inner silence, greatly favor our faculty of observation and self-knowledge, so if there is a personal topic that you would like to give more space and reflection, this retreat is a very good opportunity to do so.

NIGHT MEDITATIONS

Breathing techniques to stimulate the pineal gland at the most mystical time on the planet: night and dawn.

We take advantage of these moments of the day to practice breathing meditation because in them our system gets charged with melatonin, a hormone related to sleep cycles, growth and deep states of consciousness.

"The true progress of meditation is measured by the degree to which inner tranquility is achieved"
– Sivananda
